The Braber BE-PHDLG is a PTO-driven post hole digger sized for sub-compact and compact tractors. Mounting to a Category 1 3-point hitch and matched to tractors up to 30 HP, it drills clean, vertical holes to a full 40" depth for setting fence posts, footings, and more — turning hours of hand digging into minutes of work.

Built with a heavy-duty oil-filled gearbox, shear-pin PTO protection, and a swivel-top link design, the BE-PHDLG is a dependable, easy-handling digger — and its shortened boom makes it especially well suited to smaller tractors.

Powered Post Hole Digging for Smaller Tractors

The BE-PHDLG takes the work out of digging post holes. Driven off the tractor's PTO, its gearbox spins an auger that bores straight down to 40" deep — deep enough to set posts below the frost line for stability. The shortened boom keeps the unit lighter and easier to lift for tractors under 30 HP, while adding ground clearance during transport. (Auger bit sold separately — the BE-PHDLG pairs with Braber's short post hole augers.)

Shear-Pin PTO Protection

The PTO shaft is shear-pin protected — if the auger strikes a rock or root, the shear pin breaks to interrupt the drive before damaging force reaches the gearbox and PTO, then is simply replaced to get back to work.

A heavy-duty oil-filled gearbox runs cool and well-lubricated under load for long-term mechanical reliability.

Swivel-Top Link Design

The swivel-top link design lets the digger keep the auger vertical even on uneven or sloping ground, for straight, true holes.
